CommScope, Inc, a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks, was selected by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) as the 2016 winner of the Large Technology Company Award during last night’s NC Tech Awards Gala in Raleigh, N.C.

The NCTA recognized CommScope for its vast portfolio of network infrastructure that includes some of the world’s most robust and innovative wireless and fiber optic solutions. CommScope serves customers in more than 100 countries including a majority of the FORTUNE 100 and major telecommunications carriers around the globe. It employs approximately 25,000 employees globally with approximately 1,900 in North Carolina.

CommScope’s solutions can also be found in the largest buildings, venues and outdoor spaces including two in North Carolina:

“Due to the insatiable demand for bandwidth, networks are evolving, converging and becoming more complex,” said Eddie Edwards, president and chief executive officer, CommScope. “CommScope helps companies evolve their networks to keep up with the demand. Because CommScope is headquartered in North Carolina, and has significant manufacturing operations here, winning this award makes tonight especially thrilling.”

“Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards has honored excellence and innovation throughout North Carolina, representing the best and brightest,” said Brooks Raiford, president and chief executive officer, North Carolina Technology Association. “As a winner of the Large Company Award, CommScope has distinguished itself as a peer-leader and we are proud to recognize them as a 2016 NC Tech Awards winner.”

The NC Tech Awards is North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program, recognizing companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership in 25 categories. More than 900 technology leaders attended last night’s event held at the Raleigh Convention Center.

This mark’s CommScope second year in a row receiving an NC Tech Award. Last year, CommScope took home the Communications Technology Award.
