WebCast Replay | E6000 CER - LDPC in a DOCSIS 3.1 Network Environment
Category Name: Converged Edge Router
DOCSIS 3.1 introduces a new type of forward error correction to the transport network – LDPC. As part of the effort to use higher modulation orders, LDPC allows packets with high levels of correctible errors to be successfully received. In a DOCSIS 3.0 environment, high levels of correctible errors were used as an indication of deteriorating plant. In DOCSIS 3.1 this is no longer true. High levels of correctible errors is an indication of pushing to use the highest modulation order the plant can sustain.
At the conclusion of this webcast, every participant should be able to:
1. describe the role of forward error correction
2. describe the interworking between LDPC and higher orders of modulation
3. list the expected performance gain in the HFC network
Duration: 1hr.
